    Ayup All...

Gandy already knew about the Meeting. According to the book, he'd already discussed it with the Dwarves (Before Carrock he says) so whether it was during the argument about 'leaving' Bilbo behind in the Mountain passages, I don't know. It seems the only time they'd had to after escaping. Unless Gandy'd talked to Thorin at Bag End or before, and not mentioned it to the others...

I think the hair-storking moment may come post decision to go back to Dol Guldue alone to check out the place. Possibly after a worried looking gandalf shot framing a flashback to when he was there and met Thrain.

He may 'sense an evil' and be worried that he will get his staff broken by a cloaked person on a beast of some kind.

Stu - Yep, the troop will certainly be aware that Gandalf is going to have to leave them at some point (he'll have told them as much, probably after discussions about convening a Council at Rivendell) but I suspect they'll also be hoping it won't be 'til _after_ Mirkwood, which will give the (impromptu?) parting that much more emphasis...

i think Radagast will be introduced before the trollshaw sequence... reason being Gandalf is on the adventure with the dwarfs at this point and not off on his own. there needs to be a reason for him to NOT be present when the dwarfs encounter the trolls. Enter Radagast who tells Gandalf about a White Council meeting in Rivendell. Then it would make sense with Gandalf saying he was looking ahead meaning Rivendell but came back when looking behind after noticing the trolls capturing the dwarfs.

    Nice.

Gandalf leaves the company to scout ahead, I believe, and bumps into some Elves from Rivendell who inform him of the trolls' whereabouts, don't they? They could be replaced with Radagast, I suppose, who then also informs Gandalf that his sojourn in Rivendell is likely to be more significant than he'd intended...

It would also give Radagast a natural, earthy environment in which to be revealed for the first time to audiences. I hope he isn't only introduced at the White Council in Rivendell for the first time. It'd be nice to see him in his element, as it were, first...

    Ayup Todd...

That Sounds OK. Thorin does ask Gandy where he went, after turning the Trolls to stone and Gandy says, 'Looking Ahead' to which Thorin says ' and what bought you back in the Nick of Time ?' and Gandy replies Iconically, 'Looking behind'... So Gandy could meet Ol' Raddy at ANY point before or after, and tell the Dwarves or Thorin alone about the Council while they hide the Treasure as they rest up.

I'm SO Glad that I have the Enhanced version of The Hobbit on my Iphone...
