We've got a dang spammer robot on the forums! I hate those things.

If you talking about Whole86, I took him out this morning. Pain in my butt. There was at least one topic on every forum. Still, he was easy to spot. One of them earlier was copy and pasting other peoples comments from the same thread. I actually overlooked the spam at first. Tricky bastards.

on the forums i admin, spammers used to be a really big problem.

There has been some nasty stuff posted here, including adult material. If anyone spots anything, please contact GB, Show, myself, or Zackira. We are all mods and can take care of it.

There on most forums I think Bargolwash, and they are necessary, without them you get a lot of obscene stuff posted. I can recall when I was on another forum, getting pm'ed a lot of porno trash from some false account that had been set up. Apparently this idiot was irriating everyone with pm's and was trying to sell stuff.
That Forum had no protection against such things, I was a Mod on it - so believe me, its better to have those bots

I'm sorry, but what's a "spammer" exactly? I'm still knew here, so I don't really know much, but...

Generally speaking spammers are people who post advertising. Some people also use the term to apply to people who post non sequiturs ad infinitum, though that actually blurs the line between Trolling and Spamming.
