I don't really follow a lot of recent American folk. But I like a lot of 60s stuff like Simon and Garfunkel and Peter, Paul, and Mary. I like a lot of Dylan's early Folk material, but am not as fond of his later stuff.

Simon and Garfunkel, I can particularly see as writing songs suitable for Middle Earth (love their rendition of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme).

I could say I like Simon and Garfunkle (which I do really), but they are way out of my time. My parents like them, espcially when Paul went single, with Rythms of the Saints and Graceland, I like their stuff but I can't I'm a fan really cos their not music of my era really. I liked We are the World, the American Band Aid equivalent, of which he was involved with. Being honest I preferred We are the World to Band Aid, and as for Band aid 20, all the artists were second rate apart from the Darkness and Coldplay.

Right this is a call for help. Before I drive myself mad. I used to have the BBC radio4 plays of LoTR and it included a selection of full versions of songs that appear in the plays. I loved the version of Treebeards song about the entwives. And for the love of any God (or Goddess's) I can't find it anywhere. I've scoured the web for it and nothing unless I want to fork out for the entire series again-which I don't for the sake of a song. Can anyone help? Do you know where it may be found. Please assist, pulling what's left of my hair out here.

I think that's it; I can't recall any other radio performances with Ian Holm in them.

Thanks Eldo- problem is I already have the set- but the bonus soundtrack cd was in a later repackaging and I don't want to pay twice just for it. Fortunately I have managed to track down what I was after after several more hours hunting.
Now how to get it so you can all have a listen? Tech head needed.

I didn't realize it, but I'm glad you found it! You could try uploading the soundtrack to YouTube I suppose; every now and then songs get taken down after copyright claims, but so many are left up that I don't think its always illegal. How you would go about doing that I don't know, though. :P

That sounds like a good plan. Sadly I've never listened to the BBC version of LotR, though I've heard a lot of good about it. I'd be interested in hearing this song if you can figure out how to get it on YouTube.

Thanks. For those who don't recognize it: it's Serious Cat photoshopped onto the body of the Emperor of Mankind from Warhammer 40,000. :ugeek:
