I checked out the link B'arelyn. Thanks. John Martyn is very good. I was surprised to see that he played left as well as right handed guitar. The man had Skillz 8-) .

I may have run across mention of him in the odd British music magazine, but living in the states means I usually miss some of the less famous British musicians  .

Yeah, he's a great musician, and you should move back to Blighty! :D

BTW I really enjoy listening to Kate Rusby (I know I mentioned it before!) you should check her out on the internet, some people have put some recordings of her live shows on youtube, strongly reccomend her (and her band's) music! What are your musical preferences GB?

My tastes are rather eclectic, but I particularly like Electronic/Industrial and 80s Nu Wave (Gary Numan, Ultravox, NIN, Juno Reactor, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Die Krupps, Prodigy etc.). Also like Classical, Folk, Prog Rock (Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes, Dream Theatre), Heavy Metal, some Jazz, a little R&B and funk,...etc. .

I would actually love to see a sword and sorcery soundtrack with a mix of Metal, Electronica, Symphonic, and Folk music. One B-grade flick that took this approach was Dungeon Siege: In the Name of the King (based on a video game Natch ;) ). Some of it was alright, actually some decent effects and battles despite being lower budget. But the Metal was great for Battle Scenes; the soundtrack really helped the movie a lot.

Can anyone remember the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band? I bet they'd come up with some pretty eclectic theme music and songs!

I don't personally remember them. But I found their wikipedia page. Very interesting. I think they would probably fall under the category of prog rock, as jazz/psychedelic rock synchretizers often did (Gentle Giant, Nektar, Yes, etc). It's cool that McCartney worked with them.

Hmm, I'm not sure actually. I may have come across them on a compilation without knowing it.

I found Pendulum's wikipedia page. I might like some of their stuff. I'll have to see if they have anything on Myspace or Youtube to see for sure.

I'm not so fond of Drum and Bass myself, a bit boring. But the Wikipedia page said they had embellished their sound somewhat, which sounds promising.

Are you a fan of Bob Dylan, and the folk scene in America GB?
