It was announced today that at last they are releasing the trilogy on high definition Blu-Ray and I wrote in the blog post here that I would be ordering despite the fact it will be the theatrical release.

Having already purchased about 4 copies of each over the years though I'm now reconsidering. The extended versions will be released to coincide with the cinema release of The Hobbit and I know for a fact I'll be buying those so I'm thinking I ought to wait.

Who am I kidding. Soon as its released I'll be buying

When is it coming out on Blu-Ray. bought a blu-ray 6 months ago (very expensive) just 4 lotr. Still no sign. getting cheesed off.

Due out this Summer but you're right, it seems to have been a while a go since it was announced.

It's now delayed until sometime in 2010 (at least), "probably" in March.

Anyway, even if I had a Blu-ray I'd probably not buy the Theatrical cut. Frankly I think it's vastly inferior to the Extended Edition, plus by the time the EEs come out I might have something I can play them on.

Well nov 3rd been and gone. stil no sign. any one no. thought i was going to get a christmas present i actually liked, but not to be.
