Del Toro says he now has it narrowed down to 4 actors for the part but none of them are aware they are being considered. It must be nice to know you can knock on the door of any actor in the world and know he will snatch your hand off for the part.

That is crazy!! Thats really weird that he hasn't told them yet though but I guess it's the best way to get the right person instead of having them all suck up to him all day. lol

I just read Ady's latest blog update on casting for Bilbo Baggins. All I have to say is; MR BEAN!!???? WTF???????? That seems like the oddest choice.

Rowan Atkinson? He's a comedy actor, not a character actor, and he has one of the most recognisable faces (and voices) in the world. I just hope the makeup department manages to bury Mr Bean without trace! Or, better still, perhaps the CGI guys will do the same job on him that they've done with Gollum!

Well I haven't seen a Del Toro movie I've disliked yet, so I'm willing to trust him on this one . As long as it's not Mr Beans Holiday in Middle Earth .

I'm not sure about Mr Bean.... Not that I don't like the guy but seriously?! Maybe I've just seen him in too many movies who knows maybe there are some hidden acting skills that he has that I don't know about. lol Who knows I'm just a little skeptic about him... But maybe that's just me.

Atkinson has the perfect accent. And he's a brilliant actor. And his face is similar enough to Holms' (we're talking loosely here) that it is plausible that they could be considered the same character at different ages. Besides, Bilbo in The Hobbit is funny, ish.

Yeah Barrel, I see the possibilities .
