Movies, since their conception have always been a major attraction throughout the world. Also of note is the fact that despite economic instability, movies still manage to make quite a profit and that people almost always find time to watch them even though they may have worries of their own. This goes to show the massive impact that the film industry has on the human consciousness. Perhaps it’s the escapism or perhaps it’s people’s need to gain some inspiration in order to cope with their stress, whatever the case, we have made the film industry rich through our attentions.
One should note that since the previous year, the film industry managed to get one of its biggest breaks when it produced The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Dark Knight Rises, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Wreck-It Ralph and many more. Anyway, An Unexpected Journey even managed to trump all expectation when it managed to earn as much as 3 billion U.S. dollars in the box office alone. And then, combined with the movies mentioned above, they managed to help keep home video sales and rental companies like Time Warner, Metro Goldwyn Mayer and Redbox Instant afloat despite the economic recession that has caused quite a commotion in the global market. So after these films, can we expect more? Definitely. Already, there are films in the works that will challenge the records of any of the previous films. So just what can we expect coming to hit our theaters soon? Well, here’s a few:
We have Transformers 4 in the works somewhere and it’s definitely going to make waves once it hits. Once again, humanity is pulled into the grueling war between the mighty robotic denizens of Cybertron: the protective Autobots and the brutal Decepticons. According to other news, the film will experience an overhaul of its cast and will probably feature new characters both human and transformer. Better still, there’s been news that Transformers will soon have a crossover with G.I. Joe, something that fans of the original comics by Marvel will surely appreciate.
Finally, we have The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug which is scheduled to hit theaters this coming December. A continuation of the planned The Hobbit trilogy by Peter Jackson, the second film follows the story of the titular hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, as he travels with his new companions in their quest to reclaim the dwarven kingdom of Erebor. This will be followed by The Hobbit’s third and final installment, There and Back Again which is scheduled for release late next year.
