The University of British Columbia is conducting a study that they call Digital Cinema in Transition and they need responsible Hobbit loving cinema-goers to complete their survey. If you want to help out then follow this link.
The University said:
“We want to find out how digital media is transforming your engagement with feature films and its trans-media components, through the use of mobile devices, social media and ‘crowdsourcing’.”
The digital side of the Hobbit movies is something that has exercised everyone, since it was released in 3D and 48FPS. If you have seen it in these formats then you may be of especial interest to the researchers.
As ever the survey is, according to the University:
“..for academic purposes only. The questionnaire is anonymous and we don’t share any personal or private information.”
They are not affiliated to any studio, or commercial interest, by the way.
By taking the survey you would be contributing to research aimed at identifying how you, the cinema-goer affects the way makers of film construct digital image in the modern theatre.
