LOVE the Trilogy. I have the edited versions, and the extended Directors versions in the 4 disc set. I love the artistry, the story, the actors, the entire EVERYTHING! It is a masterpiece! I know this chapter of the Baggins biography will be amazing, and meld beautifully with the Ring Trilogy, as it should. Peter Jackson has incredible insight to the mind of Tolkien. Jackson has brought to "life" the world Tolkien created, and has done so, in such a way, the fans/viewers actually feel a connection to the cast, the characters, and the gorgeous locale where Middle Earth truly is. This chapter is exactly what the fans, and I bet the cast as well, have been waiting for! I'm so excited!! Ohhh..can’t wait! LOVE the Trilogy. Why not just cast Schwarzaneggar as Smaug, Angelina Jolie as the invented elf girl and Benicio Del Toro complete with Bogarted cigar to play Bilbo. While you're at it you might as well dedicate a good 5 minutes of the movie to a trumped up love story between Bilbo and the made up elf. Don't get me wrong... I'm excited and can't wait but I look forward to it with a degree of weariness.
