I don't know why people get it into their heads he did, when he said it about 50 times he avoided the World Wars in the books. I thought Astin did it quite well. Tolkien would have been satisfied. If you don't, that'd your problem. Lay of Luthien? That would make a boring as hell movie. Please, do get something with a storyline, not something that views like a documentary. I felt his steady weight gain and softening during the Ring trilogy, when Sam should have been hardening and thinniing was very unfortunate.
