He would still be that "gangly creature" mentioned in the Hobbit, which - again- is to say that 76yrs is no comparison to the rest of his 587year life span due to the power of the ring. Remember that the ring was lost for 2 and a half thousand years, and came to Gollum who had it for approx. another 510yrs before losing it to Bilbo! So reletively speaking, to ask for Gollum to be made to look younger would be like asking a 90 yr old man to be made to look like he's 88(or so). There MAY be a slight change, but I can hardly believe that there would be much especially at 587 yrs old!

Just remember though that “the ring had brought to Gollum (not Smeagol) unnatural long life.” This is to say that Gollum as we know him 76+ years later in LOTR would NOT be much different looking. Del Toro said than he want to be faithful to the books, not only to the LOTR films. In the books he`s almost black

I think that this is an oportunity to make a darker Gollum. But yeah, I agree, would be cool if gollum looked slightly "younger" :-)

I think Bilbo is around 50, possibly 60 in the book so that would mean that it’s about 50-60 years between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I mean it has been a hundred years or so in between the Hobbit and the trilogy. He should have A more hunched back and such.

I think they should update, or de update gollums look.
