Del Toro Talks Hobbit Movies

by The Hobbit on April 20, 2008

Guillermo Del Toro says that an announcement will be made within 5 days regarding his involvement in directing The Hobbit movies. He goes on to confirm that several meetings have taken place to discuss choice of actors, direction of the movie etc. Strangely enough he still states he is not guaranteed to get the job but everything has been agreed and it is now just the legal issues to sort out.

He also states that the Hobbit movies will be made in his own style rather than attempting to copy the Lord Of The Rings and that he intends the second Hobbit movie to smoothly join the end of theĀ first Hobbit movie to the beginning of The Fellowship Of The Ring.

Interesting stuff. You can see the Del Toro interview in the video below.

But still…it might not. Unless…unless Peter Jackson is exec producer like they say he will be.

For me, “Hobbit” doesn’t have to be better than “The Lord Of The Rings”. I “just” want it to be as good as trilogy, so let the “Hobbit” be the “Lord of The Rings” ‘s copy unlike to what del Toro says.
