Rumours are abound that Peter Jackson is in fact going to direct The Hobbit movies.
It seems the writers strike has done us all a favor and set production back far enough that he will now be available to do the movies as director rather than as producer.
If true, this is great news for most fans although bad news for Del Toro who had been touted as the man to step into Jacksons shoes.
IfItsMovies.com was the first to break this news although they don’t quote their sources so as yet this is still just rumour but fingers crossed as they are usually pretty accurate with their breaking news stories.
Updates will be posted as soon as I can get the news confirmed.

I trust you wont keep this April Fool (for that is sadly what it is) up any longer than necessary. Better for us to get used to GDT rather than raising our hopes again ….

Not funny. I would’ve been sceptical had I read it yesterday, but got excited when reading it today. I was sucked it for a moment until I noticed the date. This is like telling a terminal patient that they’re gonna live and then just laghing at them when you see the joy on their face. Just Plain Cruel. B*stards. Funny though.

I’ve added a note to the post now so no one else will get over excited

Woe! There was me believing it to be true. Think Del Toro will be useless (couldnt even finish the LOTR and has dotty political views), so I will sink back into the sloth of despair …
