Sir Ian McKellen To Reprise Gandalf Role  | read this item

We know Peter Jackson is to produce and we know Del Toro is to direct but what about the cast.

If you had to back just one of the Lord Of The Rings cast to be back for The Hobbit movies you would be smart to put your money on Sir Ian Mckellen. It’s just not really on trying to picture someone else in the role of Gandalf.

Go on try it, think of another actor you respect and who’s work you admire, close your eyes and try and see him as Gandalf the White, or even Grey for that matter, neither works.

Well good news for the smart money as it appears their bet is about to come in. Sir Ian McKellen has told his fans via his blog that Peter Jackson and partner Fran Walsh have told him they can’t imagine anyone else in the part either. I told you it was just about impossible, didn’t I? If someone with Jackson’s imagination can’t do it, mere mortals have no chance!

When asked by one of his many fans if he will once again be blowing smoke rings down Hobbiton way he replied “Yes I will, if Peter Jackson and I have anything to do with it, he being the producer and me being, on the whole, a very lucky actor.”

You can read the entire questions and answers session here, it’s a good read and has some insights into the making of The Lord Of The Rings.

I might visit here more often if I could read one of these posts without correcting spelling and grammatical errors in my head. My God! Edit these things a little before punching enter.

Also, there’s a problem with your commas becoming question marks in the text. You should also review WHEN to use a comma. Don’t just sprinkle them on with a pepper shaker. Commas seperate clauses or ideas.

I need a good Tolkien source, but this kind of writing is a big negative for your site. Professor Tolkien turns over a little every time you post.
