Sam Raimi under negotiation for The Hobbit movie

Sam Raimi says negotiations are underway between himself and New Line Cinema regards The Hobbit movie.

Sam was at the San Diego Comic Con an was doing an interview with IESB.net about the vampire movie “30 Days Of Nights” when they asked him about The Hobbit.

The entry suggesting that Sam Raimi is in negotiations for the Hobbit is complete rubbish. He indicated at ComicCon that he was NOT in the business of following Peter Jackson- see his comments at: http://www.comicbookresources.com:80/news/newsitem.cgi?id=11417

If you click on the source link you can watch him on video at the comic con yesterday sayin he is in negotiations with New Line regards The Hobbit movie.

Interesting. He knows more than he is letting on. He is officially pretty non-committal in reply. However when he scratched his head on direct questioning, it is a sign (to courtroom lawyers like myself)that he is not being entirely truthful with the interviewer!

Thats about the way I read it to. When asked “It is (the hobbit) something you would be interested in doing though yes?” he replied “I really can’t say anything at this point.”

I’d take that as confirmation :-)

That scene where he talks to Jabez before his final waltz is truly haunting, that close-up on his face as he talks about his soul. ,
