The Hobbit | 
For those in the dark, The Hobbit was written by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1937 and is a prelude to his Lord Of The Rings trilogy. It is in The Hobbit that we are first introduced to Gollum, Gandalf and of course, Bilbo Baggins of The Shire.
The story follows Bilbo on his adventures with 13 dwarves as they attempt to take on the dragon Smaug and free the dwarves ancestral treasure.
